Guy Laliberte : The First Space Clown
Canadian circus billionaire Guy Laliberte, who founded Cirque du Soleil, has become the "first clown to go into orbit". A Soyuz capsule carrying Laliberte and two other astronauts blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome atop a Russian rocket on Wednesday. Guy Laliberte put on a red nose like a clown when he boarded the spacecraft.
Mr Laliberte is also is taking nine red clown noses into space, one each for members of the orbiting ISS crew. He says he will make the ISS astronauts laugh during his 12-day stay, and produce a web event that highlights the issue of clean water for all. He intends to lead a "poetical social" performance from orbit. The two-hour show will link up with contributions from 14 cities worldwide and will be streamed on the web. Guy Laliberte reportedly paid more than £20m for his ticket to the International Space Station.
Pink Phobia in Baby Flamingos!
Pink color is common in flamingos. Young flamingos hatch with gray plumage, but adults range from light pink to bright red due to aqueous bacteria and beta carotene obtained from their food supply. A well-fed, healthy flamingo is more vibrantly colored and is considered as a more desirable mate. So, what will happen if a flamingo develops pink phobia? Lots of trouble. Isn't it? Actually, it happened with a pair of flamingo chicks at London Zoo.
The birds, named Little and Large, developed the pink-phobia after being fed using a pink sock puppet. The cute chicks have since refused to have anything to do with the color pink - which could be a problem when they move into the flamingo pool.
Zoo staff are now hoping they get over their aversion before developing their distinctive color, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Keeper Alison Brown, 30, said: "To try to encourage Little to feed by himself we've been wearing a hand puppet which imitates adult flamingos, but unfortunately he was really terrified of the socks."
Ms Brown added: "We'll just have to hope they get used to the color pink, but I'm sure it won't be a problem. Once Little gets his own pink color he'll be fine."
US Soldier Fights in Pink Underpants!
Recently an US soldier battled against the militants wearing his pink "I love New York" underwear. Take a look at the picture. No, this is not a Photoshop stuff. This is real and it appeared on the front page of The New York Times.
Zachary Boyd, the 19-year-old soldier, was sleeping when his platoon came under a sudden attack by militants in Afghanistan. Before standing against the enemy, Boyd managed to grab his helmet and body armour only. So, an Associated Press photographer got the chance to capture the rare moment - a soldier battling the enemy in his underwear!
That was definitely a funny situation. But in my view the soldier did his duty perfectly. What you say?
'Hand of God' offered on eBay!
A man in northern Idaho saw a big hand rock formation in his backyard and he started to consider it as a divine sign! As it is divine, it definitely worth something, the man thought!
So, Paul Grayhek, 52, listed the rock formation on the online auction Web site eBay. Paul calls the rock formation "Hand of God Rock Wall", which is approximately 9 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The shape appeared after a rockfall during Christian season of Lent on March 8. That's why Paul thinks that it is a symbol of the hand of God in his life.
As per the auction terms, Grayhek was not planning to part with the formation and the winner bidder would be buying the rights, complete and exclusive rights to the rock, including literary and movie rights. The eBay listing, which has been removed due to undisclosed reasons, received up to US$2175 bid. It means at least some people wanted to buy the "hand of God"! This world is full of so many weird people!

Some people can do anything and everything for money. Don't blame their character or habits, it is money that makes them do those unbelievable, weird and even illegal things. Believe it or now, a Romanian man is trying to rise money by selling advertising space on his wedding tie. Tudor Ciora, 26, the groom wants to raise some money to meet the wedding expenses. Companies can pay 20 euro for a slot near the top of his tie, 15 euro for one in the middle or just 10 euro to have their name at the bottom of the tie.

Love bikes? What about Kawasaki ZXR400? Introduced in 1989, the Kawasaki ZXR400 was one of the first and most popular of the 400cc sportsbikes that swept across Japan and later Europe in the 1990s. It was discontinued in 1999. Well, some people still love it and when they are unable to get one, they try to make their own version of the sportsbike. Take a look at the photograph below. A Christmas tree in Peterlee, a town in County Durham, England, is being termed as the "Worst Christmas Tree"! Because it is too small and looks more like a twig than a tree. And even some people thinks the tree is an insult to the town! Take a look at the picture.
The tree was meant to be the focal point of festive celebrations at Castle Dene Shopping Centre in Peterlee. When the tree arrived it turned out to be smaller than expected. But, it was too late to order another one. So, it was put up and decorated with coloured lights. Even pop star Natasha Hamilton was invited to officially switched on it's lights.
Despite all those decoration the Christmas tree failed to attract local people. One shopper termed it as "the worst Christmas tree in the country". Even complaints were lodged before Councillor Joan Maslin.
After all those complaints and media coverage, the Shopping Centre was flooded with offers of replacement. Now it is reported that the Christmas tree will be replaced with a new 20ft tall Norway spruce, provided by Forestry Commission. At last the people of Peterlee will be able to enjoy a beautiful Christmas!
