Chef recommended Henbane in Salad!


What happens when a popular chef recommends a poison? I am sure that it may lead to deadly consequences. Actually something like that happened with Anthony Worrall Thompson, a celebrity British chef. He mistakenly recommended Henbane, a toxic plant, for salads, instead of the leaves of the weed fat hen. The chef made the recommendation in July edition of Healthy and Organic Living magazine.

Low doses of Henbane can cause hallucinations, dilated pupils, restlessness, vomiting, hypertension and flushed skin. Whereas it's larger doses can even kill a person. So, you can imagine how deadly the salad would be. Thanks God, no one has prepared and eaten the salad! Thompson has apologized for the mistake and on Monday, the magazine issued a correction on their website.
